Dear Ms Baldwin, I'm Tanbir, a Punjabi woman grown up in the west midlands of England. I first read What the Body Remembers in my teens (I am now almost 40!) and it was thrilling to see my immigrant, working class, not-quite-fitting home culture represented and spoken about in such a vivid and poetic way. It was heart-opening. Now I am married to a Catalan professor of philosophy, and live in Barcelona with him and our three year old son Azaad. Recently I walked into the living room of his parents home and my mother in law was on the sofa reading What the Body Remembers. I had never mentioned it to her; she absolutely fell in love with the book and we've discussed it many times since. Finally, this October we visit Punjab for the first time with my husband and in-laws. I had been wondering how to structure the trip - with family we tend to focus on relatives' pinds and Amritsar, whilst my solo trips mainly consist of wandering around Delhi bookshops and galleries. Although all of this will figure in our visit, I needed something more for my mother-in-law's only visit to India. Luckily, last night I stumbled across your website and your fantastic recommendations. Just wanted to leave a small note of thanks for your ongoing presence, words, and warmth. And send you all the very best from myself and my family. Tanbir
